Little Nightmares 2 Is Just as Unsettling and Terrifying as the Original

Footling Nightmares 2 isn't set to release until Feb 2022, but the squad at Tarsier Studios recently allow me sit down with a preview build for the puzzle-platformer. The demo took place in a later chapter of the game where Six and Mono take already met. The chapter is set inside of a hospital and, as you might wait, is downright terrifying. Delight watch me try my best to not pee my pants below.

I've said this before in other articles on the site that I'g a big ole wuss. I struggle to play well-nigh horror games on my own because all the spooks fluster me. Then it translates to the real world and I find myself scared to get out of bed at dark. Nature is calling, but my pansy behind thinks in that location'due south some kind of monster lurking in the toilet or whatever.

That said, there'south something thrilling most playing and overcoming a great horror game. Sure, more often than non I just stop and watch a YouTube playthrough. Even so, I really do love a proficient horror game, even if my whimpering may make you lot think otherwise.

Thankfully, Little Nightmares 2 continues the original'south legacy of being a terrifying puzzle-platformer. If y'all've never played the get-go game, imagine a game like Limbo or Within with the horror factor turned up to eleven and some of the most unsettling art y'all'll meet. From my short time with the sequel, it'southward clear that Tarsier is trading in that same fare while introducing a new playable character.

Manifestly, I've only played through a few levels, simply each of them was incredibly tense and fun to puzzle out. While I didn't encounter anything too innovative in the pattern, everything feels well put-together and varied. In the full build, they might use the same ideas again and again; however, in my preview, they were constantly shaking things upwards.

At one point, y'all're running from a creeping Cousin It manus. And so y'all're using a ball-peen hammer to smash said hand into oblivion. Then, you're using a flashlight to continue beheaded hospital ghouls at bay. Unfortunately, your low-cal also illuminates the fact that their hospital gowns are open at the back and you tin can run into their soggy underwear. Swings and roundabouts, I suppose.

And so, even though I was more than a little grossed out by my assailants, Lilliputian Nightmares 2 is shaping upwards to be a worthy sequel to the original. I'd love to tell you information technology was coming out earlier Halloween because that would be perfect, but the wait should be worth it. Plus, if history repeats itself, nosotros can look tons of mail service-launch back up. Past next Halloween, we could very well have tons of new content to play through.

Fiddling Nightmares 2 launches on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series Ten on February 11.
